To help you with your project we are in the process of preparing a number of free information sheets about the permitted development rights for certain types of works to your property for you to download.

For general guidance on different aspects of planning and managing a building design project, please open Do I Need Planning Permission?.

You can make certain types of minor changes to your house without needing to apply for Planning Permission. These are called “permitted development rights” and some of the more common rights are described in these free guides. They derive from a general Planning Permission granted not by your Local Authority but by Parliament. Please bear in mind that the permitted development rights which apply to many common projects for houses do not apply to flats, maisonettes or other buildings.

So far we have produced the following guides:
–   Extensions
–   Outbuildings
–   Loft Conversions

Please fill out your details in the form below and we will email you the link to the relevant information sheet. It would be helpful if you could provide some details about your project in the ‘comments’ box.
